Exploring Your Chiron Activation in Virgo Season

Virgo’s Healing Energy: Virgo’s inherent connection to healing, both physical and spiritual, aligns beautifully with Chiron’s energy. During Virgo season, there’s a natural focus on health, well-being, and service, which can be harnessed to work on healing the wounds Chiron represents in your chart.

Chiron’s Lessons: Chiron in your natal chart points to areas where you may feel vulnerable or wounded, but also where you have the potential to develop deep healing abilities. Virgo season, with its practical and nurturing qualities, provides an ideal time to engage in healing practices or rituals that address these wounds.

Wherever there’s a wound, the potential to wound always exists. What the tale of Chiron teaches us is this: how to find power in the face of powerlessness.

The Astronomy of Chiron

Today Chiron it is classified as both a minor planet and a comet, and is accordingly also known by the cometary designation 95P/Chiron.

Where is Chiron?

“Chiron orbits between two intensely oppositional planets—uptight, restrictive Saturn and liberated, revolutionary Uranus. Like a metaphysical mediator, Chiron can help us synthesize the energy of both planets. You must understand both extremes in order to find the middle ground. In Astrology and the Rising of Kundalini, author Barbara Hand Clow refers to Chiron as the “rainbow bridge” between Saturn and Uranus. Aptly named, since integrating the full spectrum of emotions is the key to wholeness.” (AstroStyle)

The webpage, AstronomyNow.com notes that:

  • Chiron was discovered in 1977 and was the first planetary body labeled as a centaur, after the mythological Greek creature — a hybrid of man and beast. Like their mythological counterparts, centaurs are hybrids, embodying traits of both asteroids and comets. Today, scientists estimate there are more than 44,000 centaurs in the Solar System, concentrated mainly in a band between the orbits of Jupiter and Pluto.
  • While most centaurs are thought to be dormant, scientists have seen glimmers of activity from Chiron. Starting in the late 1980s, astronomers observed patterns of brightening from the centaur, as well as activity similar to that of a streaking comet.
  • “There’s an aspect of serendipity to these observations,” Bosh says. “We need a certain amount of luck, waiting for Chiron to pass in front of a star that is bright enough. Chiron itself is small enough that the event is very short; if you blink, you might miss it.”

Chiron in Astrology

“Chiron’s position in the chart reveals where one has been wounded, and where there is also the opportunity for discovering healing from within and sharing this discovery with other people. Although one has been wounded, it is possible to look within, invoke the healer Chiron, and have more compassion for others. The position of Chiron, by house and sign, can also show where we have talent and access to ancient wisdom, as well as where we may depart from the mainstream in service to a higher practicality. Those with prominent Chiron in their charts are likely to be educators and spiritual healers, much like the civilized centaur-healer” (Astrograph).
