Mars

Mars, the ruler of the first house, kicks off the beginning of the astrological calendar. Aries the first sign of the zodiac marks the “first beginnings”. It is an igniting force and shares the same kinds of traits as the archetypal energy of Mars

  • ambition
  • courage
  • competition
  • infectious energy
  • intense passion
  • hot temper
  • argumentative nature
  • self-obsessed
  • a need to always be first
  • and like a ram, headstrong

The graphic below is a feminine representation of the energy of Mars and reminds me of the Disney character Mulan.

The female warrior samurai Hangaku Gozen dances in martial delight on her horse. Red ribbons flying, unfurling courage. Mars is often personified by warrior heroes, whose essence is defined and crystallized upon the field of action.
