Neptune

Neptune is the universal principle associated with myth and dream, transcendence and dissolution, mystery and magic. It manifests in fantasies and projections, images and illusions, giving rise to the yearning for paradise and the quest for the ideal. It is that principle that moves us to seek connection to the eternal and to rediscover a sense of enchantment. Accordingly, it has an especially prominent place in spiritual experience.

Every archetypal complex can present different challenges and when we gain awareness we have the tools available for chosing how we approach and respond to the insights we receive.

The archetypal Neptune enthralls and enchants, luring us into the world-illusion of maya, but leads ultimately from the mystique of protection to genuine spiritual realization, from delusion and confusion to pristine clarity, and from the state of dreaming and wishing to serving as a vessel for spirit.

It leads us through experiences of disintegration and dissolution to unity and synthesis.

THE WAY OF THE ARCHETYPES – VOLUME II by KEIRON LE GRICE p.183

Le Grice concludes his chapter Idealism and Imagination: The Spiritual Realm of Neptune by sharing that Neptune works according to the alchemical operation of ablutio which washes away confusion, impurities and blemishes in the pursuit of spiritual perfection. “…as if one were to become an unblemished mirror or crystal-like lake” (183).

In addition, Neptune also works with the operation of solutio that dissolves boundaries and distinction. “The Neptunian impulse moves the separated individual consciousness towards a mystical union with all that is — the mysterium coniunctionis of alchemy” (184).

Neptune is currently in Pisces but it will soon move into station direct into Aries in February 2026 until 2038. Many astrologers are excited to move out the haze of the past decade. Many feel this energy has contributed to mental health awareness, legalization of marijuana, and the rise in psychedelics and ketamine experiences. The untruths, disinformation, and malinformation in society has contributed to confusion and chaos as many struggle to understand what is “real” and what is an “illusion”.

At the time of Neptune’s discovery, the American gold-rush began, prompting a massive migration to California in hopes of attaining rapid wealth. At the same time antiseptics were first used in hospitals to combat infections. 1846 was the year that petroleum was first distilled from raw resources. Fifteen years later, the US civil war broke out to abolish slavery. These historical occurrences concur with Pisces themes. (See book below by Maurice Fernandez, p. 10)

Astrology Of Neptune In Aries – 2025-2039 – A New Chapter

Pisces, represents our ego’s need to realize the limitation of our individual power when facing the immensity of existence with its higher forces and meanings. We perceive that despite our ability to learn, grow, and progress, there is always more to the mystery. Life comprises ever deeper layers of the Truth. We become aware of our limitation to grasp it all, and learn to accept we cannot know everything, and must trust the greater Truth and its mystery; we learn to harmonize with life, trusting it is good (Fernandez, p. 18)

Through Neptune, the 12th house, and Pisces, we measure our existential well-being; it is our “happiness barometer.” The details —who we are, what we do, how we live, and what we believe in—are secondary. What matters is the fundamental question: with all we have and do not have, what we know and do not know, with the pleasures and the pains, do we love life, or only tolerate it, or perhaps even detest it? (pp. 19-20)
