The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of eight seasonal Celtic festivals that have been celebrated by ancient earth based cultures and modern observers. Most of us are familiar with the solar events of the Solstices and Equinoxes marking Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. The times in between are the Cross Quarters when the Sun reaches 15° of each of the fixed zodiac signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. These are the exact halfway moments between the Solstices and Equinoxes.
Over time these celebrations have been called many names depending on era and geography, especially in ancient Europe. These eight solar celebrations are considered holy days in many modern organizations and religions. They are part of the astrological clock that is precise at marking time in a very sequential and mathematically ordered rhythm.
